Spirit of the West Adventures is pleased to announce the winners of their 2011 Photo Contest

Spirit of the West Adventures is pleased to announce the winners of their 2011 Photo Contest. Each year the judges of the photo contest have the difficult task of sorting through hundreds of excellent photos of majestic wildlife including orca whales, bears, dolphins and the stunning scenery of scenes captured while kayaking Vancouver Island and exploring the Pacific Northwest Coast of British Columbia, Canada. Choosing a winner is never easy!
This annual contest showcases photos taken by guests from Spirit of the West Adventures kayaking tours as well as visitors to the Pacific Northwest.
This year’s grand prize winning photo was taken by Andrew Jennings. The photo was taken in Johnstone Strait, and the realm of the killer whale. Andrew has won a space on a 2012 Johnstone Strait Expedition tour (value $1495 CDN). The Johnstone Strait Expedition Tour is a 6-day, 5-night paddling adventure through the Broughton Archipelago and the realm of the killer whale. This tour is suitable for kayakers of all ages and abilities. Knowledgeable and experienced guides share this stunning area while ensuring your safety and comfort as well as providing incredible meals and a few laughs along the way.
In addition to the grand prize, prizes were awarded in four categories: “Kayaking with Spirit of the West”, “Kayaking in the Pacific Northwest”, “Scenery and Wildlife with Spirit of the West” and “Scenery and Wildlife in the Pacific Northwest”. The winners of the four categories, each receive a 100% organic cotton t-shirt from Spirit of the West Adventures.
