Although Desolation Sound attracts all levels of sea kayakers, this is the ideal paddling destination for first time kayakers. The weather is generally better here than anywhere else on the coast, and most of the kayaking is done in protected waters.

Here you can see why this area has such an appeal to on water adventurers. There is no questions that Desolation Sound is one of the most scenic places on earth. Paddling throughout the lovely islands at the footsteps of towering Coast Mountain range is truly breathtaking. You can enjoy walks through these forested slopes to crystal clear lakes.

Kayak camping is fun! We can take about three times as much gear as we would on a back packing trip, and the best part of all is that the kayaks carry the weight! The kayaks glide effortlessly through the water no matter how heavy they are.

Sea kayaking in the calm of the early evening can be one of the most beautiful experiences ever. The sun glowing on the coast mountains always makes a superb back drop. This photo was taken in early spring, when our mountains are still dusted in snow.

Mount Denman, shown here in late September, is the most prominent peak in Desolation Sound and rises from sea level to over 6500 feet! Many of our guests compare it to the Matterhorn in Switzerland. Your guides will be sure to seek out one of the prime camp spots that can offer you views of this and other mountains.

You are welcome to bring your fishing rod along, and try to catch a fish for one of the evening meals! Please note that you must obtain a valid bc salt water fishing license.
