The
great bear rain forest has many stunning features. Some of which
are the many waterfalls. When you mix steep cliffs with water
cascading down from hanging valleys you get blessed with some
of the most magnificent waterfalls on earth.
The West Coast
At times we will visit beaches where hardly a sole has set foot.
Next stop, Japan.
Dinner anyone
Fresh fish for dinner is often a treat. These waters are teaming
with sea food of many types.
The wolf
Wolfs come down to the estuaries to feed on the spawning salmon.
It is a delight to see them and equally wonderful listening to
there howls from our night time anchorage.
The eagles
Eagles are everywhere, especially in the fall when they too come
down to the rivers to feast on the returning salmon.
Lunch time
Most of our meals are served on the Columbia III, but on the
occasion we will kayak to one of the beautiful beaches for a beach
lunch.
Calm paddling
Paddling in the fog through a maze of small islands, kayaking
does not get any better than that.
Quiet of a kayak
It is a mysterious world in the central coast, and there is no
better way to experience this than from the quiet of a sea kayak.
Fjiordland
Sometimes words simply can not describe the beauty of an area.
This is one of those times.
